I did it, YAY!

I don't know why I was blessed with a good metabolism, but because of it, I was always the small one in the family. Fast forward to my late 30's and after 4 children my once great metabolism now was...well, not so great. Actually, I think it retired. I all of a sudden put on so much weight, people were noticing...and commenting. "We're glad you're getting big like he rest of us!" or "You're getting chunky." etc, etc. All I'm thinking is, "Really, I hadn't noticed!" When my clothes no longer fit and my back started hurting more and more, (I have scoliosis), believe me, I NOTICED! I had a choice. Was I going to get depressed and let myself go, or was I going to stop complaining and do something about it? I chose to use their comments, (and my back pain), as motivation to kick butt and take names! After watching my food intake, breaking up with Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, (which was my crack), and a daily dose of, "Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred", (love her, she rocks), I am feeling so much better! I looked thru my old photos and made a before/after picture that not only shocked me, but really put into perspective how much I accomplished, (with God's help of course)!!
Now, to keep it off...Oh gosh! Well, I will do my bestest and believe I can do it!!!

Cool idea, bad timing!

Okay so I saw this on Facebook and LOVE this idea for the T-Man, my 6 year old autistic son who loves building things. One problem, nobody sells pool noodles anymore since it is November as I type this, and even if they did, my bad back and neck wouldn't allow me to be in the same position long enough to properly cut these out! I have scoliosis, and I assume that is why my back is almost always hurting...who am I kidding, I'm a mom! If I had the noodles, I would do what I had to just to see him smile! But I digress..
.
Super cool idea, amiright?!!! Who ever came up with this idea is genius, I love it!  Can't wait for summer so these go on sale again! I'm blogging this to save it because I have a bazillion things on Pinterest that I never look up anymore. Great idea equals happy mommy!

It's been a while...

I haven't updated in a while! Here's why: The T-Man was officially diagnosed with autism on April 20, 2015 and to say I have been busy since then is an understatement. I have been taking him to lots of appointments and have been reading up and going to classes to learn more about it. He has started speech, occupational therapy. and am grateful to say that he was able to get into The Arizona Autism Charter School. I went to the Arizona Autism Conference at AZA United, the same place where he has taken a summer social skills class and currently takes speech. We had our DDD, (Department of Developmental Disabilities), and ALTCS, (Arizona Long Term Care System), appointments and am grateful to report that he was approved for both. Lastly, I was able to hire my sister to be his habilitation specialist. I'm still waiting for her to finish training so she can start, (and boy am I eager for her to do so)! When she starts, I will have more time on my hands to sit in front of the television and eat bon bons...YEAH RIGHT! It's funny how some people still think that, that is what a SAHM, (stay-at-home-mom), does!
In other news, The J-Man is now in pre-school so that is a blessing! He is coming out of his shell more and more each day. He was super-shy but not so much anymore. I went to pick him up a couple weeks ago and his teacher informed me he had done some interesting artwork. I looked, and it turns out his "artwork" was marker drawn all over some classroom shelves, AAAAHHHHH! I cleaned it up of course, she was nice about it. Even at home there is never a dull moment:

Thats Tang all over the coffee table.
This is the J-Man who apparently went swimming in it.
Since he has so much energy, I enrolled him in soccer. He loves being outside, and had fun at practice so I thought this was going to be a winner! Today was his first game. I have no pictures or video because my little ball of energy decided he was NOT going to put his team shirt on or play the game at all. He cried the entire time and wouldn't place one foot on the field, LOL! Maybe as he goes to more practices, he'll become less shy and play. Oh well!
I can hear that I am now being paged upstairs in the form of The Little crying his eyes out, so I guess my "free" time is up. "Free Time" Ha Ha! LOL!

What a day!

Much love and respect to the local fire department for getting here super fast when The Little, (who has never met a button he would not push), signaled the fire alarm while I was in the bathroom...I don't think I have ever apologized so much in one sentence! What a day, what a day, what a day...on the bright side, this will make a funny story at his wedding!

Funny 'cause it's true

So because I've been running around like a mad woman lately trying to have the house somewhat clean and tidy, (HA!), I have missed so many opportunities to blog about the funniest stuff my guys have done, (including some really interesting times I have had to ask, "Boys, is that poop or chocolate?")! I want them to see this blog as a trip down memory lane when they get older, so I guess I'll hafta keep pen and paper w/me to jot down stuff as it happens. In a nutshell, this is a FANTASTICAL, (fantastic/wonderful), way to describe my days:
I laughed so hard when I saw this because it is my truth! I love when I see stuff that falls so beautifully into the category of, "Funny 'cause it's true!"

"Cheeeeeeese!"

Sooooo, to say that the J-Man loves Nestle Quik Chocolate milk mix is an understatement...yup, just the mix, not the drink. He often sneaks into the pantry and climbs the shelves to get to it no matter how high up I place it. Hiding it is nothing more than wasted energy because I swear that kid can smell the stuff a mile away! Same goes for their strawberry milk mix. Speaking of strawberry milk mix, one afternoon I was making sandwiches and had the container sitting next to me. I blinked, and it was gone...but I didn't notice right away. I finish making the sandwiches and realize the boys were awfully quiet, which anyone with kids knows is rarely a good sign. So I look up, and saw that the J-man and the T-Man had dumped the container out on the coffee table and were spreading it all over...YAY!

Look at this picture! When the little booger saw that I had my camera out, he actually posed and said, "CHEEEEEEEESE"!
I know it was my little Nestle Quik-aholic who snagged it from right under my nose, but how did I not see the J-Man, a.k.a. my Ninja Boy, grab it when the container was right by me?! Apparently I was REALLY into making those sandwiches. Sad part is, the dang sandwiches weren't even that good! HA!!!

I'm tired!

Soooooooo, I finally put the pile of toddler clothes away that was stacking up on my couch. I blinked and now my boys room looks like the above photo...
Geeze Louise!
In today's episode of, "Is that poop or chocolate?", it was poop...on my shoe...that I stepped in at the vet's office because apparently I have a vindictive dog! A lady said, "Oh, I was gonna tell you that your dog pooped where you were about to step..." with a, "sucks to be you" look on her face. I just smiled but inside I'm thinking, "Gee, thanks for ALMOST telling me. I ALMOST appreciate it!" Oh, a day in the life!
The Little just walked by me and I smell that oh so familiar scent coming from his diaper. Is it sad that 9 times out of 10 I can tell which kid pooped strictly from the smell permeating the room? LOL, like I said, I'm tired...but life is good!
So I saw this picture on Facebook and I had to share it because it's one of those, "Funny because it's true" photos:
Did I mention I have four????!!!!
Despite the craziness, I love my life.  Life with kids is messy, but instead of fighting the chaos, I try my best to embrace it...to a point, anyway. I am a recovering clean-aholic, and while I don't want the place to constantly look like a bomb went off, I try to relax. There are times, (like yesterday), when I must stop everything and pick up here and there because I can't relax if the house is too crazy. But I figure, I am blessed with 4 healthy kids who love to play, and I am blessed to have a house that they can be messy in!

I own it, I don't let it own me. :)

You know you're an adult when getting to break in your new carpet shampooer totally excites you. Okay, there are plenty of other ways to know you're an adult, but for me, this was just too cool! So then, after hours of shampooing carpet, my youngest who I call, "The Little", spills his juice. Do I freak out? Nah, I clean it up and move on, after all, that's life with my 4 kids!  I have my 16 year old daughter, Skimmy, my 5 year old son, the T-Man, my 3 year old son, the J-Man, and of course my 1 year old, The Little. Life is good! I want to own the carpet, not have the carpet own me, LOL! The Little didn't do it on purpose, and in the grand scheme of things, who cares? Our house is not perfect, yes it's clean enough, but we live in this place! We own our house, we don't let it own us! Phew, I feel better now. Good night!
